Zero onboarding friction. Zero workflow disruption.

Activating EV capabilities doesn’t mean retraining your drivers or learning a complicated new software system. It simply unlocks a new way to fuel your vehicles with the WEX tools your business already depends on every day.

What stays the same

  • Your administrative settings: All current driver profiles, active card PINs, and custom spending guardrails remain completely intact.
  • Your financial workflow: You continue utilizing your existing credit line, your current payment terms, and your established billing cycles.
  • Your system of record: Every report generates directly inside your standard WEXOnline dashboard—no secondary data spreadsheets required.

New EV capabilities

  • Level III energy transparency: See the precise kilowatt-hours purchased by your vehicles on the road, matching the deep data you already get at the fuel pump.
  • EV charging: Your drivers can use the DriverDash® app or their EV enabled cards to initiate public charges without juggling multiple network accounts.
  • Automated combined reporting: All of your charging data flows straight into your existing WEX statements, eliminating manual data entry and saving your team hours of tracking time every month.

Scale your fleet, your way

Adding EVs shouldn’t mean managing two separate fleets. WEX brings your fueling and charging data together pulling every transaction into a single consolidated report.

WEX EV En Route

On-the-go public charging for your drivers.

Network Access: Tap and go at 175,000+ public charging ports across the U.S.

Cost: $5.00/month per card*** (fees apply only after cards are enabled).

WEX EV At-Home

Automated reimbursement and reporting for drivers who charge at home.

How it works: Order hardware and installation directly via your WEX credit line or bring your own equipment. Drivers are paid quickly and accurately for actual utility energy used.

Cost: $12.00/month per employee.

WEX EV Depot

Centralized reporting for your private workplace chargers.

Key Advantage: Securely map and guide drivers to your preferred, low-cost private chargers—even ones without internet connectivity.

Cost: $2.00/month per card.

***If a monthly card fee is already active on your fleet card, the cost for En Route enablement will replace that fee rather than incur an additional charge. This monthly fee is only for EV enabled cards.

Frequently asked questions

Can’t my drivers just pay for public charging with a standard business credit card?

Standard credit cards only see a total dollar transaction amount at a charging point. WEX captures closed-loop Level III data, allowing you to see the exact kilowatt-hours and location data purchased by vehicle, preventing administrative spend leakage and personal misuse. Additionally with WEX, all of your transactions, fuel and charging, are on one invoice instead of multiple accounts or statements.

I see the notice about Financially Liable Account (FLA). What if my user role cannot accept account terms?

Account modifications require Financially Liable Account permissions. If your login doesn’t have activation rights, you can still select your preferred product configurations on this page, download the spec sheets, and provide that information to your organization’s FLA role.

Will adding electric vehicles complicate our accounting workflow?

No, it’s designed to simplify it. WEX automatically merges your home, depot, and public charging records directly into your existing dashboard alongside your standard gasoline and diesel purchases, so that you can maintain a single unified invoice and reporting framework across all energy types.

I’ve activated EV solutions on my WEX Online account. What happens next?

Once you’ve activated EV on your account, you will be able to manage which vehicles and or drivers need EV charging capabilities. If you need more assistance, please feel free to fill out the form on this webpage and one of our EV experts will be in touch.

I don't have any electric vehicles in my fleet today. How can EV Analytics help me?

EV Analytics (powered by Sawatch Labs) helps you make decisions about your fleet based on your real data. By evaluating your real-world operational needs, they see which vehicles would save you money as an EV. It also shows which ones should stay traditional gas or diesel, and can help project when, where, and for how long your vehicles will need to charge.

I’m still unsure about making these changes online. Can I talk to an expert first?

Absolutely. If you manage a complex commercial layout, run a highly specialized field services network, or simply prefer to speak directly with an expert before updating your online profile settings, we are here to walk through the process with you.
